Yep- we’re closing out doors. Three years of fun is good enough for me. We’ve had lots great of artists, writers, and animators come in and make DHT into some memorable. I hope you guys made some friends, learned something new, and had fun.

[Magus Kaltavan's Bastion]

The first sense to hit you is smell- a deep earthy mix of stone, fine wood, and burning candle wax- you are inside a luxurious stone castle. Inside, the walls are lined with tapestries, pottery, and paintings of masterful quality. The furniture, stair ways, and other features show the same measure of skill and precision- who ever lives here is certainly wealthy. Castle also has several courtyards, gardens, patios, and balconies. Indeed, the castle is so large it may take the better part of a day to explore.

However, there is not single living soul. The butlers, maids, animals and other inhabitants are all skeletal or incorporeal- the undead. The Magus who lives in this castle is a lich- a sorcerer who used necromancy for so long that he or she becomes undead him/herself. However, none of the undead slaves seem to notice or care about your presences and dutifully tend to their work.

[Optional Scenarios]

[Magus Kaltavan]

Like many other Liches, Kaltavan once had plans of world domination, amassing a grand army of undead loyalists, and acquiring the land's most powerful magical items to horde and use. However years of research and scheming distanced Kaltavan from his/her original goal. The nagging though of "what to do afterward" was overwhelming and Kaltavan feared that s/he may plunge him/her self in a cycle of boredom with nothing to do after conquering the world.(the undead are not very chatty) Kaltavan doubted the choice of becoming a lich and even thought about suicide. But fearing for what may happen to his/her soul, Kaltavan decided on finding a way to "ascend" to the afterlife using magic.

After a decade of acquiring the world's most potent artifacts and magical texts, Kaltavan studies, attempting to find a way to safely traverse into the afterlife and rest in peace.

Naturally, Magus Kaltavan amassed a wide array of knowledge, spells, and items that deal with dimensional transport. His/Her studies may come in very hand in taking the final step into the bottom of the tower or finding more about the secrets that are in it.

Feel free to portray Kaltavan as you wish.

[The Ballroom]

Eerie slithers though the air as you come upon a magnificent ballroom. Ghostly attendees dance and chat in the stone hall. The ball room has a complex, interweaving roof inscribed with runes. Yet, one of these look very familiar- an arch to the bottom. But how will you get in the arch when it is several meters in the air?

[Keep Off The Lawn]

Sadly, you have not been transported inside. Unlike the interior, outside the castle walls are dangerous. It is crawling with various zombies and undead constructs that roam and attack any intruders. Best to head inside where it's warm and inviting.

[Ralithix]

A putrid film of red gel covers the sky, the air is heavy and smells of iron and and flesh, and the ground is a jumble of a tacky flesh-like substance, veins, and bone. All around you are organic pillar like structures topped with what looks like a cancerous mass. It is as if a huge carcass was split open and draped over the land. Yet, it is not dead- but alive.

More knowledgeable explorers and people interested in space's weirder creatures know this is a Ralithix. Ralithixi are organisms that covers an entire planet's surface, slowly devouring the nutrients and elements in the planet. The process takes millions of years, which makes the Ralithixi one of the galaxy's longest living life forms. Typically, they thrive on moons and planets with out life- as the young tend be eaten by predators quickly.

The environment is not only hostile to look at, but potentially hostile to your life. Ralithixi view all foreign life forms as potential threats and have a wide range of counter measures to stop them before any harm is done. (Much like our bodies have against viruses/bacteria.) This may range from releasing toxic gas to spawning simple organisms to deal with the intruders. Tread with caution.

=Scenarios=

[The Digestible Gate]

You find the gate, but it encased in a film of rancid red ichor that covers the planet. The gate must have been huge- as the Ralithix has a hide nearly a half-mile thick. You must find a way to free the gate and evade an angry response from the Ralithix. (it doesn't take ripping up its outer layer lightly)

[Swamp of Pus]

You are teleported to the most rancid, acrid, and vile area on the Ralithix's surface. It is swamp several acres across filled with knee deep frothy brown-green sludge with white gelatinous chunks floating around. It smells as bad as it looks. I wouldn't advise tasting it either. However, more agile members may use the many vein-covered tree-like structures to find higher ground and to traverse the vile landscape. Be aware- your opponent is in the area and the slimy environment gives several advantages and disadvantages.

[The Horror]

The Ralithix senses it has powerful beings on its surface and wants to do all it can in the name of self preservation. It musters much of it's energy in creating a huge and viscous behemoth to dispatch the intruders. Naturally, it finds you are your opponent. It's up to you how to use it to your advantage, get away, or team up and kill it.

[Wisdom of the Ancient]

Those who know of the Ralithix believe it simply a colossal animal with smarts to match. However Ralithixi have great intellect and collect information about the universe around them. Perhaps they are psychic. Perhaps they can interpret signals from long range communication. Or they perhaps they get information from other Ralithixi via smells, spores, vibrations, sounds, or even visual pattens. No one knows for sure. This creature knows about the tower, but it's not the easiest to open up. It is up to you to tease the information out.

[Keyblades]bowen13

For this round, the keys have been turned into your weapon of choice. Defeat or disarm your opponent to take their key. Simple, straight forward, and a huge hit with the audience. The catch, however, is the portal. The only way to open it it to wound your opponent with both key/weapons simultaneously. It need not be a killing blow, but the keys must puncture the opponents flesh (in the case of blunt weapons, a hardy strike will do).


[Journey to the Center of the Ralithix] bowen13

An unfortunately timed sunspot/cosmic radiation burst has shifted the next gate! Instead of the planet's surface, the gate was warped below the planet's surface, namely, inside the Ralithix. As it is common knowledge that a Ralithix can digest even the largest of animals within an hour, you and your opponent must race as far into the creatures interior as possible within that time. Within 15 minutes, your senses will be effected. At 30, your bodies will begin to decay. 45 minutes in, it will be a struggle to move. As an added treat, the keys this time around are your very bodies. If both of you don't make it to the gate (either alive or dead), neither will be able to leave. The winner will be whoever physically touches the gate first, with the option of bringing or leaving the loser.

[Concrete Jungle]

Tall towers of commerce, crowded streets, and questionable street food fill the area. The city is comparable to some of Earth’s contemporary metropolises such as Mexico City, London, New York, Tokyo, or Hong Kong. Information flows through the streets like the subways that race underneath it. Although, finding the right information may be tricky, certainly when you have dedicated foes looking for the same answers as well as a way out. The city is composed of a variety of places and locations, so don't think your only options are run down buildings or on roof tops.

=Scenarios=

The Underground-

you find yourself in a trendy/punky/grunge/techno/what have you themed club. (take your pick) Dance, booze, and shady characters fill the establishment. Surprisingly, you find that the place was built around/incorporated one of those mysterious arches into the club. You also find your opponent in club and its up to you to sucker, beat, or steal the key off him/her.

Just around the bend-

Your opponent isn't keen on sticking around and "confiscates" a vehicle (like a motorcycle or car) to find and easy way out or just to get the hell away. Finding another opponent in such a sprawling and unfamiliar city can take precious time and energy, so you have to take what you get. Find yourself a vehicle to chase down and grab your opponent's key.

Tunnel of Doom - GeminiShadows

One of the subway tracks below the city passes directly through one of the mysterious arches that act as a gateway to the next round of the tourney. This wasn't much of a problem until DHT officials decided to retrofit a subway car to activate the gate as it approaches and you in with a crowd of people. If the train hits the gate without two keys being inserted into the control panel, the train and everyone within it will be torn apart. If both key are in, however, whoever is in the control room will pass through and the rest of the train will be unharmed.
